Erskine Falls

On the last day of our weekend getaway, we visited Erskine Falls, in the seaside town of Lorne.

Great falls. Was the blurred one done at about 1/15 sec?

There is so much contrast here. Its hard to avoid burn-out of the highlights. Is there some kind of filter that would do it.

Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

For a cool waterfall effect - try mixing in a slow shutter speed with live people - of course they need to hold still. This is at my favorite water shutter speed: 1/8 sec.

Make sure that you use a tripod for this technique.

Cool effect, you actually see the scale of the waterfall!
but for some reason, to me, the people look pasted on (though it probably is not the case!)

How did I ever miss these photos? :/ Jules, these are nice images of a really beautiful place. Blown out in places but you don't need me to tell you that. It is a difficult situation to overcome.
Toad, your shot is beautiful. Having the people in there really adds to the shot and gives you the idea of the size of the water flow.

I'd loke to ad mine too while we're at it. Big Grin

Thanks Pet-o. Now that I look back on them, they do look quite a bit overexposed! Big Grin
