It actually looked better in a larger size. :-(

I was doing a bit of a comparison between the Sigma 18-50mm DC that I got with the kit when I bought the camera and a Pentax 18-55mm DA that I recently bought. I like some features on the Pentax such as the IF and petal hood (cos it looks cool ;-) ) but the focusing on the Sigma seemed a bit faster and crisper.

The Pentax lens at close focusing distances and at around F8 gives a little better contrast on ththis subject anyway as far as I could see, I did not use a tripod so the reality may be that they are closer than this testing shows.
