A Tale of Two White balances (Beach Pics)
#1

These pics were shot just a few minutes apart. Amazing how much the color temp changed as the clouds burned off and the sun came out. The third pic is sort of "in between" - the sky was getting warmer hued but the rocks and water were still quite cool. Of course, I goosed the WB setting during RAW conversion to accentuate the differences.

Very beautiful photos Mitch. It is amazing how things can change in just a few minutes.
I think if we don't wake before sun-up everyday we miss out on many photo ops. Unfortunately I'm at work durring those hours and can't shoot anything. The moring fog can give amazing images durring sunrise.

Sit, stay, ok, hold it! Awww, no drooling! :O

I was going to pick #3 as my favorite but I think I like each of them equally by their own merit. Beautiful!!!!!

Gorgeous pictures! Yes it's amazing what a few minutes can do. Sometimes I find that, even if the light itself doesn't change, just shooting at a different angle from the sun already changes a lot.

You'll have to complain to Mother Nature about that. Tongue

Just got my prints back today. Yowsa! Look much better on paper than on screen. Richer colors, believe it or not.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the additional comments.

Christian: do you mean adjusting since the original post? No, these are the same as before.

If you mean during regular processing, then yes - I tweak every image to some extent. These were 3-minute jobs, which is about six times longer than I like to spend.
