Tulip

I shot this last night and while I like it overall, the glare on the tips of the petals is starting to bother me.
Opinions?

No, it just looks like sunshine to me, I love the lighting and the colour is fabulous

I like your picture... I love the colors and DOF is perfect... But to my taste, the light is too hard and you lost detail in the highlighted parts... As the tips of the petals are sharp there should be color and texture.. well, it is what I would look for...

I would recomment to diffuse the light and try long exposure... Your flower will be very sharp, but the light will be soft, and also it will give you texture, color and mood...

Your composition is fine... if you like square format, but I would suggest to work portrait format as well...

Hope this helps Smile

Hey Keith, I think it's fine! There's a lot of great detail in the flower, and the colours are stunning against the black backdrop. I think the highlights help separate/isolate it against the black... works well for me.
