My favourite is the (let's count...) second-last image, where he looks like a satyr. The playful sparkle is very well captured.

The first three are just too detailed for my taste; in the fourth and sixth the skin looks too smooth. The effect is disconcerting. It's tough to photograph so close when the subjects are in costume, and the added possibility of digital editing increases my feeling that there's not enough context for these photos.

Thanks for sharing these images, I appreciate seeing the uncommon here.

The above images are very much 'in your face' and confronting which I suspect is exactly what the photographer wanted to achieve. To me photography is a reflection of reality and that includes all facets of human behavior.

Cheers,

Photographers face many choices regarding the line between faithful reporting versus artistic interpretation, but it's usually a good idea if their personal feelings can be discerned from their work in some way.
With these photos, I can't figure out if you love or hate the subjects.
Unflattering isn't a strong enough word.

Daring and original is appropriate, but is that enough?

What are you trying to say?

These photos go right under the skin. Good work.
