Adelaide Zoo
#1

I have posted anything for a while. I've been distracted by real life and missing a bit of movitation to shoot...

For better or worse I'm back with a few to share from my trip today to the Adelaide Zoo. I took as many shots as I could and these are some that have regenerated my motivation to take more...

1. (...Love the big cats but they are hard to shoot through wire mesh!)

2. (King)

3. (The loudest animal in the zoo)

4. (While not as exciting, this image seemed quite moody for a bird!)

5. (Up close and personal with early man)

6. (Stay Close)

7. (Is it a bird, is it a plane...?)

8. (Teddy Bear...)

Good.....the colour stands out for me, especially the bear.
Bad.......Backgrounds in 1 and 3.
#1 funny stake at the back of lionesses neck
#3 the light bit of background takes my mind away from the tiger. (get in with it and move around. LOL)
I don't suppose there is much you can do about it really but thats, only my opinion. I think all of them are great.

excellent shots Smarti,

they should inspire you to take more.........

I would have liked to see more detail in #7 but I still put this one up there.

the shots of the lion's, tiger and bear are much the same for mine..........still good but.....hmmmmm

now what stands out for me is #'s 5 and 6.

#5 the detail is fantastic, like the pp and comp

#6 the comp is the winner along with the DOF.....love how you filled the frame!

Yeah, great shots and agree with Russt, 5 and 6 are really excellent, print and frame them.

not sure about the former.

Great series, wish the zoos around here were better. Love #7.

I also want to share my biggest wasted photo of the day...

This was from a bridge looking down on the same type of monkey as in no.7 above. He was directly below me, looking up at me and shaking his head so fast his lips were flapping. Unfortuately I had the camera on a too slow shutter speed but you get the idea....

I was away for a while and it seems I missed a lot of fantastic shots. These are great! My favorite is the flying ape in #7, you caught the action precisely. Excellent series!
