This is taken at Virginia Water country park in Surrey, England.
Do you think it is a strong enough image to enter into an Internal competition at my club?

It would depend on the competition (in terms of how good others are and what the competition is about). The blown highlights in the water are a little too overpowering for my liking. But the composition of the rocks is strong. Maybe try and warm up the scene a little with a shadow or cloudy white balance.

Nothing to lose by giving it a try Bish. I agree that the highlights are a bit blown, but it has a nice composition and great use of shutter speed to enhance the flow of the water.

I don't know how much you can manipulate your picture for a contest but you could work a subtle tone mapping in this one just to get light and detail in the rocks... you have nice texture there...
