Price actually looks pretty attractive. :o

Trust Canon to launch such a comprehensive lineup of replacements - there should be something in there for everyone. The 24-105 F4 L is very tasty indeedy..

Mm.. full frame 5D..

The 5D is appealing to me, but I don't know if I am ready to sell my 20D in order to get one. And I don't know if I can afford one without selling the 20D (well, yes I do know...I can't).

Canon 5D, Canon 17-40 F4L, Sigma 24-70 f2.8 Macro, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 70-200 f2.8L, Canon 400mm f5.6L, 580EX Flash.

hmmm.. very interesting...

For me though the most interesting new product listed is the 430EX flash.

I've been looking around for a flash and am annoyed that the 420EX doesn't *quite* do everything I wanted yet the 580EX is too expensive... but the new 430EX seems to fill out the features I need very nicely (some manual controls, E-TTL II and all that comes with it, etc) and will hopefully be pitched at a similar price to the 420EX. I just made the firm decision to stick with my 20D for at least another year or two. I made that decision by selling my 17-40L in preparation for buying a 10-22 EF/S.

Canon 5D, Canon 17-40 F4L, Sigma 24-70 f2.8 Macro, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 70-200 f2.8L, Canon 400mm f5.6L, 580EX Flash.

Well................I reckon I might afford the 5D in about 8 months, at a pinch. The 24-105 about 6 months after that. Sad

I must say, for weddings, that 24 105 on a FF would be rather handy.

Incidentally, on the subject of lenses; my pictures entitled "Class (1&2)", are taken with the Sigma 17-35 EXDG. This lens gets bad press for no good reason. Yes, the EX was a pig, but the EXDG is ok. Smile

He who dies with the most toys wins.

He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

Above all remember that you can't take it with you so you may as well have a good time getting there.
