Adding an action to PS CS2

Would someone please explain how to add an action to Photoshop CS2 - thanks

In the actions palette there is a little arrow symbol in a circle at the top, if you click it, it will bring up a drop down box, you should be able to select "Load action" and point your computer to where the file is located.
Does that make sense?

OR - Use the record to make up your own actions. This has saved me alot of time.

Canon 50D.
