Backlighting / Angle of Sun
#1

On sunny days, some scenes look glorious to the eye, but I often get photos that are washed out due to the harsh sunlight. Any tips on shooting on such occasions? Does positioning the sun at a certain angle help? Lens hood? Exposure compensation?

Where is the sun in relevance to the scene you are shooting? If you are pointing within 90 degrees of the sun its possible that light may be entering your lens if it is coming up washed out. You could try a lens hood and stick on a circular polarizer to improve the contrast.

What do you mean by washed out? Can I please see an example?
Then I can probably tell you that I've got the same problems Wink

Positioning the Sun would be difficult, I can't move the Sun, I can only wait for it to move or move everything else relative to the Sun Wink hehe
