Am getting back in to photography, after lapsing for many years. I want some advice on the best way to achieve a similar result to a film I loved to use. It was Kodachrome ASA32, very slow film, but magnificent results! Can I achieve similar with low end digital camera, or if not possible with low end, you could suggest a camera. Thank you.

Nik software have a great black and white plug in for photoshop/elements called Silver Efex Pro - bit pricey though. It has all these presets for old film types. You could use it with any camera.
Canon stuff.

Second the recommendation above, great plug in.
A real low end camera will struggle to get he dynamic range needed for a decent conversion I find, my old kodak just doesn't have the contrast.
