Bluebell Time
#1

It's that time of the year again. To me, the appearance of the bluebells always means that it's time to get the camera gear out of winter hibernation, give it all the once over and prepare for another season of picture taking. I'm not a winter person and I'll only get out and about in winter if there is something really worthwhile to photograph like the freezing fog we had two years ago.

Yesterday, I took a walk in our nearby forest, and came home with a couple of bluebell pictures to add to the collection that has been building up for quite a few years now.

I used the Nikon D610 and the 24-85mm f3.5-4.5G VR ED hand held. I regretted not taking a tripod along as I had to raise the ISO to 400 under the variable lighting conditions, to achieve a decent shutter speed with the aperture at f8 or f11. Here are some of the images:

Cracking images. I love a bluebell wood.

Ask yourself, "What's most important for the final image?".

Far too few Bluebell Woods remain in the UK now. Just as well that Bluebells are protected.
It is a delight to see these excellent shots Graham. Thanks for posting.
