Davidia involucrata - A medium sized tree for the park or large garden. I first encountered this interesting species at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens and then Renishaw Hall, Derbyshire where this photo was taken. The main attractions are the long white bracts which give the tree its various epithets - the paper handkerchief tree; the dove tree; the ghost tree.
Many of my plant images were taken to submit to a gardening forum and not a photographic forum and were taken with a one megapixel camera at 480x640.
