Advice please. How to photo a chrome plate with engraving on it?
Ask yourself, "What's most important for the final image?".

Used to work! put in Fridge, forgotten for how long, keep looking, at one point, all should be clear.
Consider outside, shield with white brolly. Many years since I did one. Ed. To each his own!

Here is the result of my "chrome plate" image. It is the "maker's" plate from the first guitar I built. It was a bit big to put in the fridge (plus guitars don't like the cold), so I thought about Ed's outdoor option. What I ended up doing was using bounced flash below a white ceiling. I think it ended up fine, certainly as well as I had hoped for.
Nikon D80, external bounced flash, 1/100 sec, f5.6, ISO100, 202mm lens equivalent. Ask yourself, "What's most important for the final image?".

A very nice picture, and beautiful wood grain on that 'Tele'. Talking of the wood, obviously a Maple neck but, maybe a 'Light Swamp Ash' body?
Regards. Phil.
