Dark Flash - watch this space
#1

Some interesting technology being researched by New York University - instead of using traditional flash in low light, they're attempting to use an invisible ultraviolet flash to get around the white washout usually evident in flash photos. UV images usually lack colour, so they're combining that with a flash-free image taken immediately after to produce a normal looking image.

The results are quite stunning. It still has some way to go, but I reckon this could very much revolutionise the way photographers think about lighting and perhaps one day allow everyday consumers to capture decent indoor photos without having to resort to lugging around a flashgun as well. Watch this space!
