Just doing some thinking... I wonder why cameras don't have a distance finder on them. When the lens is focused at a particular focal length, the camera should be able to tell what the distance to the subject is, right?
It's probably a useless feature to most, but may be useful perhaps for some calculations e.g. determining if subject is within flash range, depth of field, etc...
