Dublin
#1

It's been a while since I posted... been having a bit of a downer with photography. But I did take the D7100 and a 35mm prime to Dublin for a few days...

Those are superb images. My favorite is the first, naturally. It should be the third, but I have promised my Best Beloved that I will abstain until we are less financially challenged.

Thanks guys. Yes, the first one has been cropped and sharpened a little. What more would you suggest, Ed?

Not sure if you can post, edits on showcase, here are a few.
Personalty, the cropped one is the way to go, not a lover of square prints.
These are done from a 181Kb file, via Photoshop, working from original would be better.
Cheers. Ed.

Yep, some nice edits there. I prefer your first, although I do see why you'd go for the cropped one. It's strange - a square print is my favourite and I'm always on the look out for square shots or shots that can be cropped to a square. On my original I was careful to keep the reflections in the water and also to try and maintain the original light / colouring. I'm trying to keep the editing down to a minimum these days (although it's hard! :-) )

I wished I'd taken the 90mm lens, too. And an 18mm (although I don't have an 18mm prime for the Nikon). But I travelled light...

Work wise, square was most unusual, when buying in frames, poor selection of square, same for folders, had to trim mounts. When we used a Rollie T, mid 70's, for colour shots of wedd guests, did give you a better choice of the crop we wanted, as the prints were 8x8". Since we had a package deal with our processors, bought a 16 on adapter, so while they were no longer square, we got 4 prints free. Lens wise, I have no problem, only have one. Cheers. Ed.

Nice series, I think the Whiskey calls to me loudest for some reason Big Grin.

I've been in a bit of a slump myself the last couple of months.
