I've heard, (but cant be sure), that the 20D (?) is an 8mp version of the 10D.
If this is true, then I wont be trading up, but it may cause a flood of perfectly good 2nd paw 10D's to appear on the market, which would be interesting.

I think adam's confirmed that it's fake...

But just going off the naming standard - the D at the front would indicate another of the D100/D60/D30 line right?

D at the end would be like 10D, 1Ds, 300D... ah I dunno.. Big Grin

I knew that someone would comment about the way I wrote that Tongue

Nonono.... I knew the pic was a fake, as I saw it weeks ago on a British site. The story of the 8mp version however, seems to have credibility.

Wah! You guys were right!!

I spotted this over at our friends -- PhotographyBlog -- apparently Canon USA have dropped images of the D20 into their pressroom -- ahead of the coming press release I presume!

So, the cat is well and truly out of the bag.
Todays press articles show the camera, and all the spec.

Doh, I'm wrong again... they sell an IS lens as part of a kit? Big Grin

Anyway, Rufus, care to elaborate with that statement?

Regarding that I.S. lens.... It may be part of the kit, yes.

I'm disappointed because,

1/ 8mp isnt a big deal after 6mp.

2/ Extra focus points? Hmmm, I only ever use one. So do most users.

3/ Digic 2? Nice, but how many of us shoot 5fps often in reality??

4/ EF-S lenses? No thanks. What happens when we buy full frame, 'eh?

------------------
I personally wanted to see FF sensor. That's what I want. Maybe more mp's, say 10 or 12, on a FF sensor. Never mind the bells and whistles, dont need them at all.
I.S. on a short lens, once again, no thanks. This dog isnt conned by sweeties. (Biscuits maybe, but not sweets).

Lol Rufus... biscuits eh? Full frame sensor would be very nice indeed. No more problems then with 1.6x focal length multiplier / FOV crop / whatever you will.

Well, full previews of the 20 are popping up everywhere, and, whilst I agree that it is a significant improvement, I dont think it is enough to sway me.

What about you?

haha
My current camera suits my current needs, actually, it's features saturate my needs..I don't need another cam, though I wouldn't mind having one.

One thing I think is certainly better over the 300D is the near-instant switch on...
