Free Noise Reduction Program
#1

Found out about this program over at Club Snap, It is called Noiseware and is very good at what it does even the Comunity Edition (free) works quite well with the image I tried it on (All my shots a 6MP are noisy so I took a photo of my collection of Nobbies Light house that was in 6MP, works like a charm). There are two versions that you have to pay green stuff for (US Currency) for more info on these click here. As for the free version download it here (Also evaulations for the 2 'advanced' versions there too.

If any one else knows of some free Noise removers please let me know =)

I tried this one out ..
does an ok job of removing noise..
the only real problem is that you also lose detail cause it does a slight blur to it ..

As far as I can see it doesn't do anything that even the most basic image editors can do better... Am I missing something?

Common for any noise reduction software. You will not be able to apply a noise reducing software and get tack sharp images.

Sit, stay, ok, hold it! Awww, no drooling! :O

interpolated photos are always noisy..
basically you might call it a form of digital zoom ..
they basically blow up the image to get the most use of the sensor..
than since u have the maximum data .. if u reduce the size later it might be better then when originally shot at the non interpolated size.. i think ...

does anyone know exactly how interpolation works ?

yeah, just like in the movies, where they are able to infinitely "zoom" in and "enhance" details of photos/videos...

you watch the forensic shows...
somehow they zoom into servailence videos...
and then tap a button ..and some how the image becomes so sharp its not funny...
