Spotted this link on the internets - I find it fascinating how an undiscovered photographer practicing her craft in secret would be later acclaimed as "among the best in 20th century street photography". Gives a lot of us here hope - perhaps one of our very own street photographers too might be "discovered" 20 years on.

See the work of Vivian Maier, who died in 2009, leaving behind 100,000 negatives that no one but she had ever seen. The photographs are being hailed as among the best in 20th-century street photography

She is very good. Another street photographer who is becoming recognized is Fred Herzog,
