Its finnally arrived!
#1

I feel like I've been waiting a millenia! (yes, patience is not one of my strong points)
but, my 350D finnally arrived. I'm so excited! Big Grin

Unfortuantely I have to wait until friday for the memory to arrive before I can actually save the photos Sad

But still, yay! I also got the Speedlight 580EX flash with an omni diffuser and should be getting the 50mm f/1.8 lens this week too. I'm just too spoilt Tongue
Hopefully by the weekend I'll have photos to post...

Excellent. There are several people with 350Ds here, and they look like they do a very nice job.

I love the smell of a new camera more than new car smell. I love the box. I keep it around for weeks.

Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

I still have the orginal box and packagaing inside it sitting on my book shelf, it sits nicely near my Adobe PhotoShop 5.5 Box set Smile

What's firmware? Is it for the actual camera?

Firmware - yup, updates the "software" on the camera. Updates are mostly issued by manufacturer to fix bugs or problems, and sometimes introduce some new features too.

Here's the list of firmware updates for Canon users:
http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/BeBit-e.html

I think the 350D is up to firmware version 1.0.2:

Firmware updates are pretty easy to do - download the firmware file and copy it on to your card using your PC, and then select firmware update from the menu...

Congrats Michelle Smile

yaaay.. another 350D owner!
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

ooo.. and a 580EX flash.. yummy! I just got myself a 430EX last week and its fantastic. But the 580EX gives you even more cool stuff... *jealous*

Have fun, and don't forget to post plenty of pics Smile

Thanks Adrian!
Yes, the 580EX is a bit scary for me hehehe so far I've used it on auto, and I like it!
I'm sure I'll 'grow' into it, we all need to be challenged, right?
But at least I know the way around my camera because it is quite similar to the film SLR I had.

Julian, My camera came with version 1.0.3 so I don't think I need to update yet. But thanks anyway.
