Kodak and Emerging Trends
#1

From NYTimes (i hope it doesn't require a login, if it does, go to bugmenot.com) -

An interview with Kodak's CEO - says that he's frustrated with the digital industry because it's not moving fast enough. "This industry thinks of digital capture devices as 'filmless cameras,' in the same way that the auto industry thought of the first motor cars as 'horseless carriages,' " he said. "So far, all we've done is replace silver with silicon."

Interesting read...

Frankly I like manual cameras. I still long for the manual SLR days. If I could afford it I think I would buy and old manual film SLR. I certainly don'y like the idea of cameras that automatically remove red eye and eye blinks and make other decisions for you. Ithink things can get too automated very easily.

I do like the idea of multiple lenses though. That solution gives camera makers the power to really combine extreme wide angle and long telephoto in the same camera.
