http://www.dpreview.com/news/1010/101022...abilty.asp Photozone rates the non-electronic predecessor very, very high. And it is really cheap. True, it does ot say Zeiss or Leica on it, but unless you are into architectural photography, it seems to beat the pants of anything that is out there and for amazingly low price. I have Tokina 11-16 which is both fast and sharp and contrasty, so I do not need it. However for those of you with full sensor - save yourselves $ 2k relative to the fancy brands.

It looks OK to me, alright - although I don't know Jack about Samyang as a manufacturer. Also, at the end of the day, many photographers will not accept a manual focus lens. I have a Nikon 12-24 - and if anybody *does* want a fancy brand lens - its for sale...

I agree Pavel; looks extremely underrated. I'd also agree with Toad in that the term "manual" seems to send snappers into a panic...but if they got their hands on how a manual wide does its biz and has such a failsafe as prefocus "inbuilt" into its very design, I'd reckon that many would prefer manual to AF for wides. I did, do and have, anyway.
