I'm a geek at heart, so this was great.
I learned:
- Manfrotto and Gitzo are different brands owned by the same company, not different companies. Kata is also part of the Vitec group.
- Swarf is the proper term for "Fine metallic filings or shavings removed by a cutting tool," and gets 311,000 hits on Google.
Neat stuff.

Very cool link - thanks ST. I have way too many Manfrotto products! Around 15 I think - ranging from tripods, monopods, light stands, heads, etc...
Canon stuff.

I have not that many tripods, but i have a load of lightning support from them.
Also many brand use their parts for their products, such as lastolite i.e
