I'm a geek at heart, so this was great.

I learned:

- Manfrotto and Gitzo are different brands owned by the same company, not different companies. Kata is also part of the Vitec group.

- Swarf is the proper term for "Fine metallic filings or shavings removed by a cutting tool," and gets 311,000 hits on Google.

Neat stuff.

Very cool link - thanks ST. I have way too many Manfrotto products! Around 15 I think - ranging from tripods, monopods, light stands, heads, etc...

Canon stuff.

Yea i really like manfrotto products, great build quality for sure.
I have not that many tripods, but i have a load of lightning support from them.

Also many brand use their parts for their products, such as lastolite i.e
