Mindblowing 3d photo viewer
#1

Apologies for the sensationalist title, but I was awestruck by this project that Uni of Washington researchers have been working on. Basically, it takes a pool of photos taken of a scene or object, and puts them together into a seamless 3d environment which you can explore. I especially liked the idea of having a slideshow of your images, but using community photos to transition from one to the next one. It would absolutely bring your photos alive and give your audience a better perspective of what you saw in person.

Anyway, the video is an absolute must to watch:

Interesting. I am not sure it is ready for a prime time. Pavel

I saw this recently and it blew me away too. Its bound to further fuel the argument about unfair use of 'community images' but this is amazing technology.
Im looking forward to seeing this further develop and being able to use it myself.
