My web page
#1

Hi,
I have a gallery where I post all my pictures specially for my family and friends to see them, but I was advised to have a web page where I could show only some of my best pictures in a more serious way.

I built this page, and I would appreciate your opinion about it.

Thanks a lot in advance Smile

Irma.

Simple, yet very elegant and professional. Lovey job Irma!!!

What program did you use to create the coding? I have been thinking of purchasing a ready made web site that I am able to alter from allwebco.com. IN particular, this one: http://allwebco-templates.com/templates/...7Black.htm

Its 85.00 USD.

But would like to do something like yours if its simple enough.

Love it Irma. The only thing that I might do if it were my site is change the welcome a touch. Not the wording but the background in the box that the wording is in. Like I have on my contact pages comment window. http://www.cloverdalephotography.com/contact.htm

Jerry, Allwebco is where I got my site. Excellent choice. I found that the Template was worth every cent.

Sit, stay, ok, hold it! Awww, no drooling! :O

Awesome job Irma.. I love the simplicity, and the black makes it look very professional. Well done! And I've seen most of your photos posted in ST already, but I really like the selection you've chosen. Nice!

Jerry, regarding web templates, I came across this site a copule of days ago, and I think it's absolutely fantastic!
http://www.oswd.org

You'll find the most standards compliant, simple yet elegant templates there. And they're free! I actually chose one of their designs for my new site...

If you want something with more graphics and fancier, look here too:
http://www.templatesbox.com/templates.htm

And did I mention they're free too?

I think 85USD is definitely paying too much... just get a free one and customise to your liking...

Thanks for your comments... I am very happy you like the page and my pictures .... Smile

Colin, Thanks for your advice, I will make some tests today with that background. Smile

Jerry, I wrote the page manually using php files and includes. It has a style.css to give the style to the page. I talked with G about the page and he gave me some ideas to make it easy to maintain as well... I would like to make some more tries during the weekend...

The link you gave shows very nice templates and very profesional as well... with a lot of functions!! Smile

Thanks a lot again Smile

Sorry for saying but I think it blends with the background too much. Looks a bit jumbled. I like your idea with the flower. I think that it is perfect. Was the gray box supposed to be on the bottom? I took a screen capture to show what I see.
I just had to add a little more to show some separation. Here are a couple samples of what I did the first I like better. The second just has an outer glow added.

I still see it in IE but not in FF. Looks like with all the bugs I've been getting it's time for change. Geez, I hate change! Tongue
