Peted, its more to my powermac quad then the cd drive. Big Grin

As for building your own powermac.. well thats not hard you just need the hardware, but buying them as spare parts will cost you. But then again why ? the powermac with watercooling is one of the best planned boxes i have ever seen.

Hi Paul,

Don't get me wrong mate, I think they are great (way over priced in this country though) but as ever one must remember that they like PC's and are not all things to all people, in the case of James and his Superdrive it nearly brought us undone.

Good question Christian...

I think Apple has kept a tight control on their licenses and patents, whereas quite a few years ago IBM opened up to the market for other manufacturers to produce IBM compatible PCs...

Which was a little bit silly... they took themselves out of the market Big Grin

Of course if they hadn't. Apple would of had a much larger market share by now.
