Wow, that's pretty amazing!

I think my brother went to get some pics too...

What lens / settings did you use?

I love the pp one. Sooo romantic and mysterious.

Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

I only found out about the super moon thing, from the TV at about 11.30pm., and after thinking it over decided to have a go. (I mean I had to unlock the front door and stand on the path outside. Confused ) I was fortunate that the sky was clear, other parts of the country were cloudy..

Lens Tamron 70-300 macro (cheapo)
Settings:- Manual, ISO100, f13, shutterspeeds between 1/60 - 1/160.
Spot focus and spot metering. ( To meter on the moon and not the black sky )

There is a lot of light up there, reflected back almost directly from the sun.

Thanks Don. Just made the sky a dark blue instead of black and added a few stars (4 white pixels) and a 'lens flare' filter for the brighter star.
Doing it is easy, the idea is more difficult. You no doubt know that from your writing. Smile
