X-Ray Harmful for Digital?
#1

An article from US News talks about losing digital images through a variety of means, including pulling the card out mid-write, low battery, X-Ray machines.... X-Ray?? I was always under the impression that X-Ray machines at airports were harmless to digital cameras and memory cards?

I've heard about film being exposed by x-ray, but not digital cameras! hehe
Will look into that Wink

I've not experienced any problems with airport X-Ray machines corrupting card data however I tend to copy images over to the laptop and not have much on the camera, regardless shots from on the plane etc have come out intact after a few trips even the same card being treated to several trips seems to be working fine.

Yeah I was going to say... if X-Rays can wipe cards, then I'd assume that laptop hard disks, PDAs etc. would be at risk too...
