iPhone 4 Retina Display
#1

Us poor cousins in Australia are still waiting for the iPhone 4 to launch but just wondering what everyone thinks of the high-pixel density Retina Display? It packs in 326 pixels per inch (pixels, not dots) with a resolution of 960 x 640 in a 3.5 inch display. Compare that to the LCD screens on our cameras - for example the Canon 7D has a 3 inch display with 920,000 "dots", or 640 x 480 VGA resolution (roughly 260 pixels per inch).

According to this guy (who is a pretty reputable person in ebook circles) - he claims the iPhone display provides a better experience than reading on paper.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to device makers pushing the boundaries in terms of displays and would love to see higher resolution screens in our cameras. The LCD screens on the back of our cameras are naturally limited in physical size, so I think cramming more pixels in would allow us see more detail in images, and make the most of a tough situation.
