I have been making slidshows for friends for birthday parties and anniversaries and have been using powerpoint but I am looking for something more elaborate because I have had some people willing to pay me to do shows for them I love doing this so I want a really good program with lots of options someone please help!!!!!!!!!
the picasa wouldn't be as effective as what I would need. I need something that I can add special effects and music and the capability of zooming in on a particular feature in a photo I may also need to add video clips to the slidshow. I have been using power point but was hoping there was software out there that would do all I need. I have a wedding coming up and the couple want me to create a slidshow of their youth and meeting to play at the reception so I need it to look professional.
any more suggestions would be appreciated.

snoel, take a look at Ulead DVD Pictureshow 2.0 (or whatever the latest version is.)
You can burn DVD slideshows onto DVD-R media, as well as SVCD slideshows onto ordinary CD-R media if you don't have a DVD burner. Pretty sure you can include video clips.

I've heard Microsoft photo story does what you're after and is quite good...
Video editing software also does those photo movies...

Hey!
I have done exhaustive research on slideshow software...particularly their stability under xp service pack 2...
And the head and shoulders best package is Nero Photoshow Elite.... or u can get the nero 6 reloaded package for all media types (but heaps more spensive)...
BTW does anyone know where you can get nero photoshow in australia???
