Taken with me no more than 2metres away from the bugger and no zoom =)
Very cool photo dewy! Smile I'm surprised you could take it that close without zoom. I don't think I've ever seen a kookaburra quite as close as this one.

Perhaps it's just me, but the image looks a tad grainy/noisy. That would be my one biggest critique. Wink
Thank you smelly, Yes the photo is a little gainy, more noticable in the background, but I just stuck it on auto and shot because I didn't know how long the oportunity would last =)
Ah yes. I know that feeling all too well. Smile I'm not sure how you feel about post processing editing, but I know of a few good programs to reduce the noise.. Smile
I am quite a naturalist, but I have 'Noiseware Community Edition' iirc.
Great shot dewy... love the blurred background and the detail of the feathers. Composition is good too. Keep up the good work! Smile
