The Egret


She moved like a woman
slowly lifting the legs
as if she knew she was a symbol,
putting feet on the wet
pebbles with such gravity.

While the water
burst about.
So many sounds and patterns
I couldn't hold my grasp,
unbelieving her.

I like the photo - and the poem says it very clearly.
