As many of you'll already be aware, I'm a sucker for hanging around this field, especially at harvest time. The reflectivity of the crop(as in barley or wheat) generates that extra bit of light so that skies come out with depth, with the sun always being at one's back.
Any duffer can grab some very emotive shots here even if they have no knowledge of light or metering whatsoever, given that the corn's reflected light causes effectively a reduction in the sky of about 2 stops...sort of nature's ND filter as long as the corn is in full sun.
Shot at a nice, round focal length of 116mm
choosing this lens' sharpest aperture of f8, giving me 1/800s, easily handheld even without I.S.
