I'm sure you've all been thinking to yourselves: "Matthew's been awfully quiet recently⦠it's been months since he bought a new camera!"

I picked up the Canon S100 last week, and am loving it. And no regrets about the G1 X announcement, either: Canon has finally found a clear differentiation between the S and G lines by doubling the price point.
I put a few more thoughts on my review blog: http://www.thewsreviews.com/2012/01/canon-s100.html
The short version is that I never expected a little camera to be this good. I've been using my underwaterable TS3 daily, but now that it's getting dark so early, and all of the water is frozen, I decided that it was time to use a different feature set. I've been really impressed.
(but if anyone's keeping score, that photo is from the TS3, has only had basic editing in Lightroom, and was lit by a small flashlight.)
