Fascinating... thanks for sharing, Ray! Big Grin
Never knew that either. Weapons firm - Did they make a nikon flash gun?

I was looking for a bit of advertising from a tool company from the 80's.
They sent some photos (prints to hand out) of "impossible tools". e.g. three bladed screwdriver to screw three screws at once. (which looked rather like a tuning fork) and a hammer with 2 shafts (One at each end) plus about three others.
Now I can't remember the company's name. Might have been Ridgid or not.
I think there was something like the impossible staircase too.
If it comes to me, I will be back.

I think they made the optical sights for rifles... Big Grin

Next time you "shoot" someone with your camera, spare a thought... Big Grin

EDIT: Actually it was more than that according to the wikipedia article

Quote:During World War II the company grew to nineteen factories and 23,000 employees, supplying items such as binoculars, lenses, bomb sights, and periscopes to the Japanese military.
Big link historically between optics and warfare...nowt like a really good war to kickstart imaging.!
Nope, I was unaware of the Kwanon name: delightful piece of serendipity Ray, excellent.
Good job Kia don't make cameras.
