I've tried something similar in the past called FireTalk (way back in the day when 56k modems were cool). I distinctly remember "chat" rooms where people were singing and others would encourage them on.

Didn't catch on with me though...

Singing? God no! I just use it to talk to people. It's a cheap phne call to me.
