What hot piece of glass are you looking to buy next?
I'm planning to get a new lens for my nikon d70... with longer zoom...
Any suggestion?
Not really familar with the Nikon lenses unfortunately... Sad

Perhaps someone else could suggest something?
That's cool... anyone out there who can give some advice? Big Grin
Shuttertalk, since you have the same camera as myself could you give a breif list of lenses available to the S5000?
I haven't really looked into it - pretty happy with the 37mm to 370mm (equiv.) zoom already...

However, you can get wide angle and teleconverters for it. From what I hear, there are some produced by Fuji, Raynox and TCon I think.
mmmm ... a 2x teleconverter would be sweet...
L Series USM with IS ... if ionli i could afford one ..

but i might get a peleng 8mm wide conversion ..
since on the 300D its effectively 12mm ... you only lose a bit of the corners ...
on a standard camera it gives a 180 degree view ...

i might go for the 14mm wide conversion thought ..bing less extreme...
the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 USM IS is on the list Smile
I jsut got a 'thread converter' and a 'Super Wide 0.42X' on a loan from my dad who had them sitting collecting dust form when he used his 35mm Pentax (don't know model or anything, will post pic when I work out how to set up ym camera to work in linux =]) So I have a new toy to play with =)
I'm saving up for this baby:

Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM...need something with image stabiliser and good zoom...
Does anybody know any good places to buy Canon lenses online?
for cheap prices, centre.net.au seems to have the cheapest;
if you want to buy from US (could be cheaper), try bhphotovideo.com Smile
mmmm ..IS ... *Drools* .. i wish my 90-300mm USM had IS ...
then it would be l33t ...
Save up! You work! that's a start Tongue

I'm saving up; without any income: it's quite hard;
I'll get a job soon, and some money; to fund this GAS of mine (gear aquisition syndrom - often found in guitarists)
uhauha yeah ...
i need to save for laptop .. thats first priority ...
but i might get other accessories while im waiting for the rite time to buy ...
i hsould really save for a car ~_~ but ohh welll ...

i wanted to add a 2x teleconverter onto my 300 mm .. but too expensive ..
i doubt that i could control it without IS ne wayz...

but itd be fun ..

wow 1k .. thats alot to save up ..probably be worth the IS though...

where are you getting one from ? ..im thinking of buying some mid range lenses ..
but IS .. i needs that ...

makes the lens look chunkier and more pro .. but most of all .. it helps my shaky hand a bit with stabalising..
What is 'IS'?
Image Stabilisation ..
It sort of compensates for a slightly wobbly hand ..
Oh I need IS 8x then =P, Is it a camera mode or lense?
its a lens type ...
they cost like more then double standard lenses with just USM ...
i was looking in the stores for a 50mm F/1.8

lowest ive seen is 170 bucks ,.
with postage itll cost me about 160 online ...
i wonder if its worth the extra 10 bucks to get it from a shop nearby ...
