Jeff, glad you put up a reasonably good link. I tend to set my exposures down at least a third of a stop when I am walking around during the day. I check it periodically and adjust. Sadly, it always argues with my histogram which means I am sacrificing data for immediate look. I hate bring shots down in post. But that is me. Most of my work is done in low light with long exposures. I like the saturation and I like the dark. Light is the paint, so I hate the idea that my sensor and camera automations are designed to bring everything to 18%. I always use spot metering or use my light meter (to know approx where the scene is at) and shoot manually.
