DAZ Productions Announces Call for 'Virtual Beauty Queens'; Entries for the Second Annual Miss Digital World Will Be Accepted for Six Months Beginning Jan. 1, 2005

SALT LAKE CITY and NAPLES, Italy--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 2004--Move over Naomi Campbell, digital beauty divas are here to stay. DAZ Productions, a technology leader in high-quality digital 3D models is teaming up with the Miss Digital World Contest to invite 3D artists from around the world -- professional and amateur alike -- to create and submit their perfect digital woman to the second annual Miss Digital World Contest. Entries and information about the contest can be found at http://www.missdigitalworld.com.

"It has never been easier to design the 'ideal' digital woman," said Dan Farr, president and co-founder of DAZ Productions. DAZ has created two kits especially for Miss Digital World entrants featuring the company's 3D model, Victoria 3.0. These kits allow users to create the pixel-based woman of their imagination. "With the spin of a dial, users can easily change facial features, body shape or proportions. You do not have to be a modeler to create beautiful digital women."

The two kits can be downloaded from http://missdigitalworld.daz3d.com. The Miss Digital World Standard Design Kit, priced at $99.95, includes the Victoria 3.0 base model, head and body morphs, a clothing pack and a hair style. The Miss Digital World V3 Professional Design Kit, priced at $149.95, includes similar features as well as additional hair styles, five skin types and numerous morphs to design virtually any ethnicity on the earth.

"Every age has its ideal of beauty, and every age produces its visual incarnation of that ideal from the Venus de Milo in ancient Greece to Marilyn Monroe in the 1960s; Miss Digital World is the search for a contemporary ideal of beauty, seen through virtual reality," said Franz Cerami, the creator of the competition. Contestants will go face-to-face with their competitors until December 2005. Winners will be crowned in two categories: original models and Victoria-based models. Last year, Chilean Katty Ko was named Miss Digital World from the many entries.
