Yes, I like that one.

The one above, the bird on a fence, and the one below were all taken with the Nikon 70-300. I think I have a poor version of the lens - the AF is hit and miss as to whether or not it works. Usually I have to manually focus to somewhere in the vicinity of what I want and only then will the AF kick in. I actually think something is broken inside. But when it does lock on it is pretty sharp. This was taken at max zoom - 300m - and the background is a cornfield, although I did blur and de-saturate the background to make it as plain as I could.

A nice image, nicely presented. I like my 70-300mm and haven't found any problems with the auto focus close up. I sometimes feel it is not all it could be at extreme telephoto and long range. I am maybe expecting too much.

Some very nice, creative images there Derek. Well done, you should be proud of yourself.

On the subject of 70-300 lenses, here are a few examples which I took yesterday (Sunday 17th July 2016) at the Cheltenham V Essex, one day cricket match. This was held at Cheltenham, in the grounds of Cheltenham Gentlemans College. Being a Cricket fan, for me it was a perfect Sunday afternoon.
