A New PC should probably be on my list.... this one is about to have it's 4th birthday! Had new ram, HDD's, video card, CD burner, DVD-Rom, USB 2 card, Firewire card.... I think the only original componenets are the PSU, MB and CPU! But everytime I have the cash for a new computer I buy a Digital Rebel, New Cars, 19" screen, i9900 Printer!

Well, at least this one still proicess photo's Smile

Cool stuff. Dual-layer DVD! Oooh, that could be handy. Wink

Did you get dual-monitor support? For your twin 21" Artisans? Big Grin
Dual layer is wicked .. still a bit costly though ..
looks pretty sweet man!!!!!

Does it support PCI express?

Yeh dual layer medium is still a bit pricey at the moment..........i firmware hacked my dvd burner to dual layer, just haven't tried it out yet
dave Wrote:i firmware hacked my dvd burner to dual layer,

Explain please! And is there any burning software that supports it?
I found a bit of info on the hacks. Here is one site that you can get a hack for an NEC dvd burner. Note the model #. http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/tm.asp?m=66772&mpage=1&key=
Ah. Can't find one for my Teac dv-w58e (Dell OEM.). If anyone happens to come across a hack, please let me know. Smile

Any burning software will support it...........i use Nero and dvd decryptor and it works fine
hey slejhamer your burner MAY be a rebadged BenQ burner if i remember of the top of my head which means the BenQ firmware may work on it...........i'll have a look into it for ya
Haha, that is almost my next computer, I am getting a AMD 64 of some form shuttle with a 9800 vga or a x800 if I find a winning lottery ticket, I already got the dvd burner etc, and a samsung 17" widescreen lcd, or similiar
What happened to the mac mini, dewy? Big Grin

I'll use it mainly for everyday home use (net surfing, email, etc), but also for audio recording/processing and I'll try my hand at DVD editing this year too.

The system (excl monitor, mouse, printers, etc) cost me A$1,674. I sourced it from scorptec.com.au because they're about 5 mins from where I work.
I have had my computer four 4 years or so too. I got a new stick of memory should be here today. I only had 256 :/ the new chip is 512 for $65 us with shiping. I really don't have any want for a new computer. Now if you had gotten a G5 Cool then I would be lusting.
