As a framer I am amazed at the amount of sloppy framing technquies offered to photographers by framers and I wonder if you have any thoughts on the issue?
We have formed a group to high light this issue at www.pictureframer.net
Hi John,

Hm... interesting issue. I'm looking to frame some 5x7, 8x10 and 11x14 prints so I am quite interested in finding out more.

What are the "standards" currently published? Do you have a link to them somewhere or can you post them up here?

I would also like to know what you stand to gain through forming this association? How do members benefit?

p.s. I'd change the template of your site - it's the default one that comes with Mambo... Big Grin
This is an interesting topic.

There seem to be quite a few frame shops that charge high prices for mediocre work, so you can't even say it's a case of getting what you pay for.

We get "standard conservation" quality for the important images we have framed, but we've had good and bad experiences with local framers.

Best of luck with your efforts!
The index on the left has Industry Standards
They are listed on that page.
