So what software do people use here to edit thier photos?

i generally use C1 rebel now to handle my rRAW files ...
and i use macromedia fireworks for batching my JPEGs and doing basic level editing ...

im starting to use photoshop again .. but it kills my system resources...
Yeah for web stuff (like editing photos for shuttertalk) I tend to use PSP, as it loads faster.

But for my photos I use Adobe Elements.
i use a mix of PSP and photoshop depending on what i want to do.

luckily photoshop doesn't kill my computer that bad
yeah ..
ill wait till the end of the yeah when i get a new laptop ..
then it should be fine ...

i havent used PSP in about 4 years ...
how is that program these days ? ...

and what advantage does Photoshop elements have over standard one ? ..
apart from that it comes bundled with some cameras ?
I use C1 rebel to process the RAWS, then photoshop for everything else Smile
but lately I haven't been doing much of 'everything else' (sticking people's heads on other people's bodies and other naughty things like that)

but photoshop is still very useful Smile
uhauha ..yeah . .sticking people head on your toy grover and making thier faces blue ~_~
Gimp for most resizing etc. I do also have/use Photoshop 7 (Just heard of Elements, any one care to tell me what it is?)
From what i know .. elements is like a more user friendly interfaced one .. i know that Adobe Elements 2 comes with the 300D ... but sinc ei use Photoshop CS not much need for it ...

Does gimp handle Tif files ?
cause i know i can get gimp for windows ...
Hmm, I don't have Gimp 2 installed, But I'll check if 1.3 does...
Ok, 1.2.5 does, I turns out I didn't have 1.3, so if 1.2.5 does, 2 will =)
wickeds ...whats a good site for downloading Gimp for windows ...
because i figure that it will be much faster for resizing tiffs than Photoshop
Ok, Gimme a few minutes And I'll track down some links for you =)
Here they are:
Red Means Required
Green Means Optional

GTK+: here (Run Time Files)
Gimp Binaries: here (Main Program Files)
Help Documentation: here
Gimp Animation: here
i think there was a windows installer one .. i had it b4 .. but i lost it ..ill go see if ican go find it first..
They are the installers, You won't (well I doubt it) find a installer with both gtk and Gimp bundeled
okay .. ill look into ..
what does the gimp animation do ?

im starting to try to move to open source .. its hard ~_~ ..
already using open office for my MS office substitute ..
I am not to sure, Have not used It before Myself
just a Misc add on issit ? ..
it probably handles animated Gif generation ..
Most Likely =)
on the topic of software ..who knows some good photo stitching software ?
stitiching?
yeah ..
joining multiple photos together .. to give a larger picture ..
I liked ULEAD cool360, it was easy to use and gave pleasing results.
Also had amusing sound effects Smile and some export options: jpg, quicktime VR file, and some others Smile
Cool, No I odn't I heard of a program that came with this uper cam (70MP iirc) that did that for 360degree angle shots
