My lens has arrived! Tongue (Canon 100-400mm IS)

BTW, I think Slej said it: Don't forget to budget for a trailer. Slej, you were right. This lens comes in a bag already, and I was surprised the bag didn't have wheels... It weighs 1360g, and I can feel my left arm already. I will be taking pictures as a workout from now on... Smile
Hate to say it, but "I told you so!" It is a monster lens, for sure.

Nice shot; what was the focal length on that? Was IS on? Details, please!

Now you'll also want to get a flash extender so you can use flash at long distances. Here is a review of one type, the Better Beamer: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/review...amer.shtml

Sorry I keep spending your money for you, but you REALLY REALLY need this. Wink You are fortunate to have a wife with the same hobby - she'll understand. Mine just rolls her eyes every time I even think of buying something ... Rolleyes

Hehe, no worries, I'll just send you the invoice for you to pay... Big Grin

The shot was taken at 400mm, f9, 1/800sec, IS on, ISO 800. I had forgotten to set the ISO back from last night. Rolleyes Anyway there was only little noise and neat image removed it. Smile
Another great shot G. When I saw the title I thought it was Lucky with a bird or something. Big Grin
