This is a great shot, perhaps a little overexposed in front.

Beautiful picture Zig... the sky looks lovely with those clouds... I like very much the composition... And the post processing looks great!...
You have mentioned sometimes that you dodge and burn your pictures in your post processing... This is something I just started to work with... I find very difficult to get the propper setting for the tool... but I think you get nice effect....

I alsways like using the channel mixer in b&w. I would agree that this one is somewhat over-exposed in front, but the background is absolutely perfect.
Maybe make two copies - one exposed as is and one exposed for the front, and copy them to the same canvas as 2 layers. You can blend them together with the gradient mask easily because the overexposed bits are all in the lower half of the photo. You may find this will give you a different effect.
Quick 2 minute example:

You can do 1000 times better than this with some care and the original photo - but you see what I mean.
Its a great capture.

Toad!
That's great buddy! Thank you; I wouldn't have thought of that. I was finding I was still feeling my way around with diffusion as a separate layer then lamenting blown highlights....
Irma, thank you, gracious as always! Am finding that using values of around 3-6 per cent for the dodge/burn tools gives best control.
