I just gotta vent. I'm sooo tired of the injury bug. It's starting to wear thin with me. If it's not one thing it's another. I just returned from the eye specialist to get a piece of rusty steel removed from the cornea of my left eye
(work related). Some of you may remember a couple years ago I went through an agonizing experience with that same eye
(work related). I am still recovering from crushed fingers on the right hand
(work related), a fractured finger on the left
(hockey related), bursitis returning in my left shoulder
(work related) and soft tissue damage to my right knee
(work related). Only one of these a direct result of my recreational activities such as mountain biking and hockey. It's work I tell ya. Maybe I'll just stop. Less working, more playing. :/

Man... sounds like you've had more than your fair share of bad luck...
I don't know much about the shipbuilding industry, but sounds like they're not providing you with enough protection / safety precautions at work?
Hope you have a speedy recovery mate! Hope you can still take those cat photos!

Man, that s**ks! Physical injuries take so long to cure and there is so little you can do to speed them along.
I am probably the last person to give you this advice - but try to stay positive and take it one day at a time. These things, too, will pass..
The idea of not working and do more playing is a good one if you can make it work!
Thanks fellas. Not a boat builder anymore. I'm into more physically demanding work now as a steel worker. I operate an overhead crane in a steel yard supplying machines with steel rebar for bending or cutting. Not a glorious job but it keeps you in shape. The summers are nice though.
And I whine at a papercut!
Take care mate.
I am very sorry to hear this about your health... I hope you get well very soon...
Take care...
Sorry to hear this, Colin. I hope you'll feel better soon.
Thanks Craig, Irma and G. I must be a glutton for punishment. I went and had my last remaining wisdom tooth pulled yesterday. :o One of the most ugly things I've ever endured in my life. Never again. Would an animal be pute to sleep at this point? :/
You should be very proud of the fractured finger on the left hand! At least you had fun shooting puck up to that point.
I still brag about my knee getting popped in judo.
:/

Your series of smilies say it all Mitch.

A few years back I went to work with a complete closer. You think anyone would beleive I got hit in the eye with a puck? Notta! Most common comment... "Talkin when you shoulda' been listenin ay?" Or, "The wife beat you up huh?"
