Sorry, Wulinka, I didn't intend to steal your idea. I've just got a studio flash and I had to explore the possibilities. The corpse had been lying under my monitor since summer.
Original size
Eeew... nice detail on the wings!
What setup were you using? Lens?
The deatil is amazing but Geeeez I hate bugs! :o
Im interested to know what Camera, Lens and settings you used
Geez. Nice corpse shot! I also would like to know the technicals.
Thanks guys!
This was taken with the Nikon D70, the Tokina AT-X Macro 1:2.5 and a 52.5 extension tube. Shutterspeed: 1/60s. Aperture: f22 (or f32 - I don't get exif data with this gear). ISO: 200.
Setup: Dead fly on white sheet of paper.
Lighting: Walimex Studioset CY-300 full throttle with a diffuser from the left, some other noname flash from the right and the builtin camera flash (triggering the slaves).
Photoshop: Cropped, increased brightness/contrast to lose the paper texture, with a mask on the wings. Cloned out some sensor dust spots and a few indications of shadow that were still left. Smart sharpened.
