Full Version: My El Cheapo Lighting setup

I brought a paper lantern, stand and lightbulb all for under $10 US

Here is my setup

using the lantern, and window light

Using the lantern and flash bounced of the ceiling as a fill

i've only had a quick play, and I think i should use a reflector on the right hand side next time, but hey, for $10 bucks not bad!
its pretty much impossible to get consistent colour though. I guess if you shot raw you'd have a better chance. I used the tungsten white balance.

Your photos are very nice.
Window light is the best.
One can always add fill light with computer.

The lantern really sems to soften the sometimes harsh effect of window light on shadows.
Nice soft lighting, and cheap! Big Grin
